Well, Mike, the cat is out of the bag a bit it would seem. Yes, 103.3 The Edge is set to pick up Alan's Ongoing History of New Music and bring it to Buffalo. It'll start after the first of the year. Look for an official announcement and details soon.

When are you guys going to do another 'Mandatory Metallica' Weekend? When you do, I think it'd be awesome if you included more of their live bootlegged stuff. There's actually a lot out there and it'd be cool if you guys rocked it out.

I have absolutely no issue with Megadeth. I know you, like some others, think it's a vast Metallica loving conspiracy. But here's the fact: We play what gets requested. It really is that simple. We keep track of every call, text, and email then rotate the songs in that kind of order. We just honestly don't get very many requests for Megadeth. When we do, you can imagine which song it is. We throw them in when we can, but the truth is we get OBLITERATED with Metallica requests. And that's how we get ratings: by making the most amount of people happy for the longest amount of time. That's the goal anyway. I bet this answer is way longer thna you wanted. You probably just wanted me to say 'yeah.' Thanks, Kris.

At this point, no can do, pal. However, I'm not ruling it out in the future to stream the Edge Sessions. I always think of this feedback page as an idea starter as well and I'm currently having one. I think we should make a site where you can listen to all the past Edge Sessions, watch videos, etc... Don't you think that's a good idea? You wouldn't be able to dowload them because I'm not helping you steal music, Chris. But streaming could be really cool. Ideas are fun!

Then why were so many people requesting it? Why was it the most downloaded track on all of iTunes for 3 months straight? Why did the Transformers Soundtrack sell so many CD's? Your website's music list hasn't been working right for a couple days now. If I click on the hour I want to see a list of songs for, it will only show me the current hour's songs. Like 8/6/2009... Wow, Geoff, you listen for a really long time. I don't mind telling you I love that. But I have to defend my station here. You contend that we only play Dr. Feelgood but I can ASSURE you that we also play Kickstart My Heart. That's double the amount of songs that you thought. haha. In truth, we only play what's requested. Those two songs are by far the top of the heap. But by all means, hit me up with some others and I'll be glad to sneak them in.

Considering that all you have to do is click the link then print that page, my only guess as to why you can't print the coupon is because you don't have a printer. Or perhaps something is physically stopping you from hitting 'print.' Check and make sure that no one is holding your printer finger back, then try again. I hope that helps.

I have to admit, I didn't think new AIC was going to be very good. The requests and feedback are obviously telling a different story. You can disagree but I really sense a substantial Tool influence on new AIC music. That's not as crazy as it may sound considering that Jerry Cantrell and Maynard Keenan are close friends and Keenan has even filled the 'Layne' role in past AIC reunions.

Can you please play more 311. Their new album, UPLIFTER, is out and rocks! I listen to the Edge and don't hear as much 311 as what should be played. They have been around for almost 20 years and have so many songs that are awesome. I go to several 311 concerts a year and the fans that you meet there are the best people in the world. They became my family.. nothing could ever compare to the experience of a 311 show. Thank you so much!

311's pretty cool, Liz. No doubt about that. In fact, our own Ryan Crow and his lovely wife are huge fans of the band. You do sound a little cult-ish though and it worries me. Are you ok? Are 311 fans literally your family? Do you all get together at Christmas and argue by the end of the night? That'd be awesome to see. What did you buy for 311 fan Jake last year? Did he re-gift it to 311 fan Steve? Also, as fun as a 311 show is, I can think of several things that do compare to the experience and maybe even surpass it. I always tell friends who've never been to Western New York that we have the most underated women in the United States. It's true. Just look at our Buffalo Jills. They used to look rough back in the day, but now they're among the NFL's best. Check out the Rock Girls of Buffalo page of wedg.com too. They're awesome. They've been featured in national magazines. It's a golden age. Even our bar sluts are hotter these days. If have trouble identifying them, just go to any bar and play 'Pour Some Sugar On Me.' They will surely identify themselves.

Do you mean the TV show? I'm not sure. Poor ratings? I guess you're probably referring to the Adam 12 that used to call the Edge home. Well, he's dead... dead tired of northern winters, that is! I know that was douchey, but admit it... you laughed. Adam is in Raleigh and doing quite well. He still does radio and he says hi. I wonder if I should start a feature for wedg.com where we catch up with the Edge jocks of yesteryear. What do you think? I grew up here listening to The Edge too and I often get curious about what the former staffers are doing now. So maybe we should do a weekly profile. Like, where's Kit Missle now? Is she still hot? Glad you like the 'Independent Rock' Weekend, Mark. We've gotten some great feedback about it. We do have weekly independent music features as well. There's Josh Potter's Next Wave every Sunday at 7pm and Steve K's Edge Underground Sunday nights/Monday mornings at midnight. Check those out and I hope you like them too!

At this point, we have no plans to do a traditional Edgefest this year. However, you may be interested in the next evolution and incarnation of Edgefest. That's teasy, isn't it? Well, that's what I do. Also, don't forget that the Mid-Summer's Edge is at the Hamurg Fairgrounds on July 30th with Killswitch Engage, Rancid, Rise Against, and Billy Talent. That's kind of Edgefest-ish, right?

"To Boddah

Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would rather be an emasculated, infantile complain-ee. This note should be pretty easy to understand.

All the warnings from the punk rock 101 courses over the years, since my first introduction to the, shall we say, ethics involved with independence and the embracement of your community has proven to be very true. I haven't felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music along with reading and writing for too many years now. I feel guilty beyond words about these things.
For example when we're back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowds begins., it doesn't affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the the love and adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire and envy. The fact is, I can't fool you, any one of you. It simply isn't fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I'm having 100% fun. Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk out on stage. I've tried everything within my power to appreciate it (and I do,God, believe me I do, but it's not enough). I appreciate the fact that I and we have affected and entertained a lot of people. It must be one of those narcissists who only appreciate things when they're gone. I'm too sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasms I once had as a child.

On our last 3 tours, I've had a much better appreciation for all the people I've known personally, and as fans of our music, but I still can't get over the frustration, the guilt and empathy I have for everyone. There's good in all of us and I think I simply love people too much, so much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad little, sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces, Jesus man. Why don't you just enjoy it? I don't know!

I have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy and a daughter who reminds me too much of what i used to be, full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function. I can't stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable, self-destructive, death rocker that I've become.

I have it good, very good, and I'm grateful, but since the age of seven, I've become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along that have empathy. Only because I love and feel sorry for people too much I guess.

Thank you all from the pit of my burning, nauseous stomach for your letters and concern during the past years. I'm too much of an erratic, moody baby! I don't have the passion anymore, and so remember, it's better to burn out than to fade away.
