MEAT RAFFLE (Community Event)

Location: HAMBURG AMERICAN LEGION POST #527, 1 MEMORIAL DRIVE, HAMBURG, NY 14075

The Erie County Committee of the American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring a Meat Raffle at the Hamburg American Legion Post #527. All proceeds from this event will go directly to our Veterans Creative Arts Program and also to assist our VA Medical Center with the necessary funds they need to provide needed services to our Veterans from the Gulf War, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Doors open at 6:00 PM with the first spin beginning promptly at 7:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 per person. Handicap Accessible and Free Parking.

Deaglan Carney's Benefit (Fundraiser)

Deaglan is 4 years old and has a rare form of cancer known as Cranial Fringiona. Deaglan has had a tumor surgically removed from his pituary gland at the New york University Medical Center. On Sunday November 8th, 2009 from 2 p.m. til 7 p.m. a benefit at the Iron Workers Hall 196 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca, New York will be held in Deaglan's honor to help off set the medical costs. Veterans Silent March (Community Event)
Time: 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM
Location: Buffalo State College, 1300 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo NY, 14222

In honoring Veterans Day, members of the Buffalo State College Armed Forces Organization will be hosting a "Silent March" on campus grounds to honor those who are actively serving or have proudly served in our nation's service. This event will be taking place on Monday, November 9th and is open to the public. Participation is encouraged for all of those who attend. Parking is available at the brand new Burchfield Penney Art Center located off of Elmwood Ave. and Rockwell Ave., along with “M” lot which is located off of Grant Street just across the street from Campus. Members and participants will be meeting prior in front of Chase Hall (University Police Department) at 11:45am. The ceremony will begin at 12:00pm. Artists from around the world will showcase jewelry made from intricate beadwork, wire wrapping and sculpting, along with aisles of gemstones, gold, silver, pearls, diamonds, crystals, minerals and fossils. A special highlight of this show is Jerry Bastedo, director of the Hamburg National History Society, who runs the Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education site in Hamburg. The Matthew Foster Foundation’s Annual Car Raffle (Fundraiser)

North Tonawanda, NY - November 25, 2009 – Western New York’spremiere Grateful Dead cover band, The Maniacs, will host a benefitconcert at the Riviera Theatre (67 Webster Street, North Tonawanda) on the night before Thanksgiving. A handsome portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Riviera Restoration Fund and the United Way. Tickets are $10, and are available at the Riviera Theatre Box Office, online at the Maniacs’ Web site (weplaydead.com), and at Terrapin Station (1172 Hertel Ave., Buffalo). All ages are welcome. A cash bar will be in operation. Doors open at 7 p.m.Two video screens will stream psychedelic visuals under the skillfuldirection of Jeff Garbaz, who has worked with Bob Weir, Bela Fleck, and many others.The members are mostly North Tonawanda natives who typically perform in Buffalo, so they are billing the concert as a “holiday homecoming.”
