Third Man to Release Single Featuring Sagan, Hawking

Third Man Records, the newly-launched label from White Stripe/Raconteurs/Dead Weather man Jack White, has announced they will release a 7" single of "A Glorious Dawn."

The song, which will be released on November 9th, was composed by John Boswell, who arranged the spoken words of late astrologer Carl Sagan.

Boswell pieced together the dialogue from Sagan's 1980's TV series 'Cosmos: A Personal Voyage," and added some words from renowned theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking.

A statement on Third Man's website states that the single is being released on what would have been Sagan's 75th birthday. Sagan suffered from a prolonged battle with myelodysplasia, and died after a bout of pneumonia in 1996.
